visual contemplation...

of some of my artwork... a few thoughts added.

When working monochrome how does this influence the expression?

A landscape painted in yellow-ochre seems like flooded in sun light...

A landscape in red or purple may suggest a day in late fall...

In a subtle way a single dominating color can create illusions of time,

weather, season, mood and more.

 

"Late Afternoon with Cats", 1985, acrylic on canvas

...an interior created mostly in blue may pass on the experience of a 'late afternoon'...

a composition with hues of green transforms an interior into a 'greenhouse'... one can feel the humidity.
